Fluorescent Probes

We offer a family of fluorescent reagent dyes known as ThioGlo^® and AminoGlo™ with unsurpassed performance characteristics.

ThioGlo^® maleimide reagents are superior to existing thiol reagents for detection, determination and derivatization of thiol groups using fluorescence techniques. They have little or no fluorescence prior to reaction with thiols and high quantum yields after reaction with active -SH groups in proteins, enzymes, and simple peptides resulting in extraordinary thiol sensitivity. Their reactions with thiols in aqueous buffered solutions (pH 7) are extremely fast at room temperature, usually complete in less than a minute. AminoGlo™ is now available for conjugation to free amino groups on proteins for immunoassays and for oligonucleotide labeling. Advantages are its high reactivity with amines, high quantum yield, and a large Stokes shift which allows it to be used with mercury arc line source at 365 or 401 nm, and the fluorescence collected through a broad band filter with a cut on > 425 nm.
